The Silence of the Lambs or " The Silence of the Lambs " revolves around the case of the FBI hunt for a serial killer . Trainee Clarice Starling ( Jodie Foster ) is a supervisor ( Scott Glenn ) sent interviewed a cannibal to get information about the murderer serial killer .

That cannibal Hannibal Lechter ( Anthony Hopkins ) , was detained in solitary confinement in psychiatric hospitals, Maryland . The FBI hopes Lechter can provide information on psychological killer Buffalo Bill ( Ted Levine ) when he abducted his victim 's daughter Senator . Attracted by Clarice , Lechter demands information about her private life in exchange for important information about the case , and between the two began to appear a strange relationship .

Clarice gradually reveal themselves before Lechter is one who is trying to escape the shadow of fear because of the memories of her childhood . When you live with your aunt and uncle , her midnight lambs often hear the cry bitterly , once awake , she watched them she killed the lamb . She opened the cage door eager to rescue them , but they discovered she ran away just picked up a sheep but then it died . The cry of fear has haunted her ever since until now . With the desire to get rid of that obsession , Clarice was trying to rescue the daughter of the senator . She feared that if not successful, will have a lifetime to live with the haunting , anguished cries of the Lambs .
